You're gonna pass this test.

"And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man."

- Luke 2:52 (New International Version)

-----

This scripture really ministers to me when I think about Jesus' wilderness season (Matthew 4:1-11). Up until He was led into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil, He was taught God's word while He grew in wisdom and in favor with God. At this point, right there in the wilderness in the midst of His test, He had already been taught everything He needed to pass it. Now all He had to do was fill in the right bubbles on the proverbial "Scantron" and pass that thang! And that's exactly what He did.

You're gonna pass this test too.

Because up until this point in your life you've been growing in wisdom & in favor with God just like Jesus did. Even if it doesn't feel like it, you've already learned, been trained on & even practiced all the skills necessary to pass it. You're ready. If you weren't, God wouldn't have brought you here. And, to me, that's the craziest part! The fact that He's allowing you to be tested means He's confident in your ability to pass. Now He just needs you to be confident in your ability too.

That's because the purpose of this test isn't for you to prove yourself to God. It's for you to "prove" your own strength to yourself and to every devil that thinks it can stand in your way.

This season you're going through is for you to see what you're made of! For you to get a glimpse of the power inside you that God already knows is there. Lean into this test! Demolish it! You've got it in you to overwhelmingly pass this thing with flying colors because God has already built you up for it for who knows how long. You're ready and you can do this. Keep going!

  • The main thing you need in a test is to be anchored in God's love & commitment to you. Read this recent post if you need a refresher.
  • Luke 2 & Matthew 3:16-4:1 → context of Jesus' upbringing, then Him being baptized and led into the wilderness
  • 1 Corinthians 10:13 → It's cliché but it's still Bible. You would not be in the midst of this test if you weren't able to handle it. You got this.
  • My Big Idea Strategy Session spots have been filled (ya'll weren't playin!) If you wanted one and didn't get in, reply back to this email with "waitlist" and I'll let you know when/if spots re-open. I may open up more spots if enough people respond so do it!
