You're a lion too.
“When the Canaanite king of Arad, who lived in the Negev, heard that Israel was coming along the road to Atharim, he attacked the Israelites and captured some of them. Then Israel made this vow to the Lord: ‘If you will deliver these people into our hands, we will totally destroy their cities.’ The Lord listened to Israel’s plea and gave the Canaanites over to them. They completely destroyed them and their towns; so the place was named Hormah [complete destruction].”

I recently walked through a spiritual battle where, by faith, I took back territory in my life and for the lives of my future generations. Excuse my language, but the process honestly made me feel like a spiritual badass. I’m 100% positive that the sense of authority I felt during that fight is how we always need to feel. As I savored this feeling, I sensed the Holy Spirit telling me:
You’re a lion too.
Yea, the enemy roars around like a lion seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8) but you’re a lion too. You can devour too. You scare the enemy too. This week’s passage shows us a glimpse of what is really happening still today in the spirit realm when the enemy hears what God is doing in your life and sees you getting closer to taking his territory:
He gets scared and he preemptively attacks because he knows he’s going to lose.
He knows he can’t actually stand against the Lion (aka God) in you. He knows that, just like the Israelites did to this Canaanite king, you’re about to “completely destroy” everything he’s built in your life, your business, your money, your health and everything that concerns you.
If you’ve been getting attacked lately, trust and believe it’s only a sign that you’re getting closer to taking what’s yours and the enemy can’t do nothin' about it. So don’t cower in fear when you see the battle array he’s setting up against you. Instead, rise up in the fullness of that BIG LION ENERGY you have in Christ and take everything that belongs to you. You have the Greatest One backing you and you cannot be defeated.
