What if Jesus didn't say yes.

"We don’t have a priest who is out of touch with our reality. He’s been through weakness and testing, experienced it all—all but the sin."

- Hebrews 4:15 (The Message)

The more intimate I get with my mission, the more connected I feel to Jesus. And the more I feel like I can see the totality of His sacrifice—not just at the cross, but in His daily life of running His mission. We don’t talk about the thousands of tiny yesses He had to give God His whole life leading up to the cross. But as I walk around in my purpose today and “bear my own cross” so to speak, I see more and more what it must have been like to be Him. And my appreciation for Him grows even deeper.

He did NOT *have* to say yes. But He CHOSE to! [insert praise break]

He was human with the power of choice just like we are. He had free will, His own opinions and temptations just like we do. I imagine that fear and imposter syndrome may have even tried to worm their way into His psyche just like it does for us. He had the SAME challenges as us but He overcame them all! Hallelujah!!! That means we can overcome them too!

And we MUST overcome them.

Imagine if He didn’t overcome them. If He didn't say yes. Where would we be? I guarantee you wouldn’t be reading this right now; nor would I be writing it. Now imagine the people on the other side of your yes. I can’t count the number of people who have thanked me for writing my book and up to this point I’ve been like why y’all thanking me, I HAD to write it?! But in the context of today’s revelation I get it. I didn’t have to write it. I didn’t have to say yes but I’m so glad I did. And in my mind I was just following God’s leading and pursuing something I’ve always wanted to do. But the bigger picture of it that I couldn’t fully see yet was thousands of souls that would be blessed by it (millions eventually!).

Today I’m just trying to get you to see your own bigger picture. I know you may not feel like your business is mission-driven but it is! God didn’t give it to you for no reason. There’s a mission either inside the people He’s called you to serve with your business or in the revenue it will create to fund His Kingdom initiatives (or both!)

So don’t discount your worth to the bigger picture. The problem you’re going to solve for people, no matter how big or small, still matters. Without your piece of the puzzle it’ll never be complete. So believe in yourself. Believe in the role you play in God’s Kingdom. Then confidently give your yes to God; come what may. He will take care of you!! Never forget that.

  • Philippians 4:19 → As cliché as we've made this scripture, it still hits hard when you need it. I've been clinging to it lately in my affirmations and seeing the fruits of it.

  • 2 Corinthians 9:8 → Your "yes" is funded if you believe it, BELIEVE it! Believe God's word! He WILL supply!
