There is nothing my God can't do.

“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”

- 1 Corinthians 12:9 (New International Version)

It’s hard to believe but Big Idea Food is going to be one year old in a few weeks. As I reflect on the amazing year it’s been, I’m reminded of how I felt after all the work had been put in and I had finally put it out there into the world. As far as I know, this is the closest feeling to birthing a child that I’ve experienced thus far in my life. And while I’ve been sharing the nuggets God has been teaching me along the way, I have yet to share this one with you:

I’m learning it takes faith to raise a child. (or a business, if, like me, your hustle is your baby)

I was talking with a co-worker of mine recently about how she constantly wonders if each decision she makes for her child -- every no you can’t have that, the school she chose, or the neighborhood they moved into -- is the right one. Is this going to make them a good human or a bad one? Will they appreciate this one day or will it make them bitter? Not being able to relate fully, I found myself comforting her that, at the end the day, you just have to do the best you can and trust God with the rest.

Isn’t that the way it is in business too? Sometimes you have to give things over to God that are out of your control. All you can do is really all you can do, and then God steps in. And while I’ve heard that a thousand times before, it’s just now truly starting to sink in that trusting God is where the magic happens! It’s when the magic happens.

That’s what I think God was showing Paul in this week’s scripture. Our weakness literally activates God’s strength. It’s like a trigger. So when we decide to let go and put things in His hands, to be “weak” and vulnerable in a certain area, we invite Him to move and He’s like “awwwww yea, it’s go time! *rubs hands together* 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

And just in case you need a refresher on what God’s strength looks like, it has the power to:

As I look ahead to what’s coming for my business and in my own personal life, I’m about to get EXTRA weak before Him!!! God gave me this “child” so that makes Him the Daddy! And He’s the BEST Daddy there ever was, so you know what? We gon' be alright! Will you surrender with me? Shoot me an email if you’re surrendering something to Him today so I can be in agreement with you for His strength to pick up where your weakness leaves off. Best believe, it will.
