Stop limiting God.

“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.”

- 2 Chronicles 16:9 (King James Version)

I be setting some big goals. If you're in my tribe you've heard some of the sales & impact goals I'm targeting and they are NOT small. Like at all. That's because, somewhere in the past year a switch has gone off in my brain. Now I realize that setting small goals a lot of times can just be an excuse to keep playing small, and—even worse—keep our goals manageable enough that we don't need God to reach them. Eek, yeah I said it.

That's kind of what the evil king Asa did in this week's scripture reference. Instead of trusting that God would deliver him just like He'd done before, King Asa created a workaround that didn't require God's help. And God didn't appreciate it, especially because of what He'd done for King Asa in the past (2 Chronicles 16:7-8).

It's almost like King Asa's choice to depend on someone other than God felt like a disappointment to God because, as God said through the prophet in this passage, He's literally out here combing the earth on a daily to find opportunities to show Himself strong in His people. This could have been one of those opportunities but King Asa took that from Him when he decided to depend on his own might instead of God's.

We've got to get to the point where we're giving God all the room & faith He needs to move mightily in the earth wherever we're concerned.

And I'm learning more and more that what God be out here wanting to do?! Issalot. And only setting goals we can reach without Him can limit the harvest He truly desires. Now of course, we know He leads us to do things of all sizes, small and large alike. I'm not saying all small goals are bad and I am a witness that He often starts us off with small milestones to help us build muscle for the greater. I'm just encouraging you that if you've knocked down some of the smaller milestones with Him in your past and you sense Him calling you to do something bigger, go with it! Don't be afraid to set big impossible goals because that's exactly what our God specializes in.
