I'm thinking bigger in 2019.

“The land you are entering to take up ownership isn’t like Egypt, the land you left, where you had to plant your own seed and water it yourselves as in a vegetable garden. But the land you are about to cross the river and take for your own is a land of mountains and valleys; it drinks water that rains from the sky. It’s a land that God, your God, personally tends—he’s the gardener—he alone keeps his eye on it all year long.”

If you ever watch my Instagram stories you may have seen the other day that I had my biggest Amazon sales day ever -- sold 10 copies in one day when previously my highest sales day was maybe 3 copies (and I would be pumped about 3 copies in one day!). Of course I was ecstatic and super grateful to God for bringing it to pass. Especially because my December sales weren’t all that strong up through that point and I had been lowkey bummed about it since I wasn’t likely going to hit my monthly sales goal. So seeing this really encouraged me because it basically caught me up to hitting my goal. Yay! Win win win win.

So what I didn’t tell IG is what happened the next day though. Why did I wake up the following morning and I had made 11 more sales that night after shutting down for the evening?! I sold TWENTY ONE books in one day. And on top of that, three sales had already come in that morning and it was barely 7am!

I was literally dumbfounded. Even as I’m typing this I’m still in awe and trying to figure out how to put into words the takeaways God has shown me through this.

First, I made the mistake of forgetting that God can hit my sales goals in a matter of seconds if He wants to. It doesn’t matter if it’s the last day, hour or minute of the month, God can do AN-TY-thing. I felt Him telling me, “daughter, next time you’re in a slump, ask me to do something about it! Don’t just sit there and watch it happen. That’s what your heavenly CEO is here for!” Okay God I hear You!

But the main thing God showed me through this was:

What I thought was major in 2018 will pale in comparison to what God has in store for me in 2019. 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽

Three sales used to be a good day!! But, just like how in this week’s scripture God brought the Israelites out of Egypt -- a land they thought was amazing (minus the slavery element of course lol) -- into an even greater, more expansive and blessed land, He is enlarging our territory too. They thought their little vegetable gardens were great but God had mountains and valleys for them to own!  Let’s go get these mountains and valleys 🙌🏾!

I know you’re a boss like me so you probably already have your goals outlined for 2019. I just want to encourage you to leave room for God’s “exceeding abundantly above” as it relates to those goals. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with setting them, definitely set goals; just also set your expectations on God to do above and beyond what you’ve asked or imagined for this year, just like His word says He can. Why would He say it if He didn’t want to do it for you? Ask Him and believe! I’m excited to see what He has in store for you in 2019! Happy New Year!!!
