God needs you to get intimate with His Word

This is kind of hard to admit, but up until this revelation I'm about to share with you hit me a few weeks ago, I've always kind of felt like I didn't have a relationship with Jesus like I did with the Father & the Holy Spirit. Of course my faith in what He accomplished for me via His death, burial & resurrection is solid, don't get me wrong now! But day-to-day, I'm usually talking to God the Father about whatever's going on and patiently walking through whatever curriculum Holy Spirit has for me that day. But it just always seemed like Jesus has been the one member of the Holy Trinity that I didn't spend as much intimate, daily time with.
Until now.
I've actually had the revelation that Jesus is the Word of God (John 1:1-14) for a while now, but it never clicked like it did until seeing in this week's scripture that His actual NAME is "the Word of God." Here's the play by play of how my mind was expanded after reading this scripture that day:
- Whoa. Jesus said "ask anything in my name and I will do it." (John 14:14). "I" will do it = The "WORD of God" will do it!!! Marlena, when you ask anything "in Jesus' Name", you ask IN "the Word of God". Do you see that!? When you use the word of God to ask for a thing, the Word of God (aka, Jesus Himself), will DO it! (1 John 5:14-15)
- God said "my Word accomplishes what I sent it to accomplish" (Isaiah 55:10-11). Jesus has been the Word of God the whole time!!! Like, God's literal Word. That moves mountains. That created heaven & earth. That brought us into existence. Every word God has spoken is literally Jesus HIMSELF. Whew!
- Jesus is LITERALLY the walking, talking, breathing, living word of God! The word of God (aka the Bible) is Jesus in written form. Jesus is the Word of God (the Bible) in human form. But they are one in the same. Like, if the Bible (aka the Word of God) had a name, it would be Jesus, cuz that's Who the Bible is.
As you can see, this got me SO hype because ya girl spends TIME in the Word ok!? GOOD time. So it just encouraged me to know that this whole time I've been kicking it with Jesus Himself and didn't even realize it. Yay! And don't let this discourage you if you haven't been in the Word like you should lately; this is just a push to get into it with a refreshed mindset! It's not just the Bible you're spending time with, it's Jesus!
If you've ever felt like I felt, I hope this encourages you to know that, as you spend time in God's word daily, you are literally spending time with Jesus Himself. You walk with Him daily. He Himself disciples you daily! You have access to Him daily! If you've ever felt disconnected from Jesus because He's not walking around on the earth anymore, know that He truly still walks with you as you walk in His word. So, if you haven't already, spend some time with Jesus this week boo & enjoy the counsel of His presence!
