God loves Me even when I'm busy.

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens... a time for war and a time for peace.”
- Ecclesiastes 3:1, 8b (New International Version)

-----

When I got out of school and came back home to live with my mom, I was so much less busy than I am now. I had all the freedom to just kick it when I wanted to, dream up new ideas, watch tv, etc. I didn’t have a job yet and was in the earlier stages of my recommitment to God back then so I spent large chunks of my days with Him just reading the Bible, listening to sermons and just chilling and talking to Him. Things are so different now that I’m working a full-time job and running my business on the side. Sometimes I fight guilt of not being able to spend as much time with Him as I used to spend.

Are you in a space right now where you feel further from God than you’ve felt in the past? Or do you also sometimes fight guilt of not getting enough time with Him like you know you should?

Whenever I have those moments where I’m down on myself about it, God brings David to my mind. He too had a season where it was just Him and God out there in the fields, watching sheep and fighting off lions together (see 1 Samuel 17:33-37). But there came a time when David had to become king (at God’s choosing by the way) and that personal time He had with God on a regular basis was replaced by times of war and conquest. I guarantee David wasn’t out there playing his harp, dancing and worshipping God on the battlefield! No, instead He was spending time with God in a different way -- seeking Him for strategy and leading his troops into victory.

I want to encourage you that God knows the season you’re in and He understands. It’s Him that called you to entrepreneurship in the first place! He knew you’d be busy and He’s not mad at you for doing the very work that He called you to do.

Just like our scripture says today, there’s a season for everything under the sun. If you’re in a time of war right now in your business, lean in to it and seek God for the strategy you need to win. If you’re in a time of peace right now and have the freedom to just enjoy God’s presence on a regular basis, soak it up! Just remember that no matter what season you’re in, God is with you, knows what you’re going through and is there to support you in the midst of it all.
