God is hiding your idea FOR you, not FROM you.

"It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter."

- Proverbs 25:2 (New King James Version)

One of my clients was getting discouraged looking for her "big idea" in business and God gave me this article to share with her as an encouragement. I wanted to share it with you too in case you're also struggling in this area. In short, it basically says:

God hides things FOR us, not FROM us

When I read this week's scripture, I imagine God hiding revelation from us the way parents hide Easter eggs from their children. They hide them just high enough where they're still in reach or leave just enough showing that they'll catch their child's attention when they walk by. As a parent, you get a kick out of watching your children scrambling around for eggs and, of course, it's super fun for the kids too. And why is that? Why do children enjoy spending all this time and energy searching for something they can't see yet?

Because they believe what their parents told them.

They trust their parents so much that they believe the eggs are out there and that, when they find them, there's going to be something good inside for them to enjoy. They're out there having a full blown treasure hunt not for any other reason than because their parents told them it exists.

Hasn't God told you that He prepared good works for you to do (Ephesians 2:10)? Hasn't He told you that He has plans to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11)? And then on top of that has He not provided the Holy Spirit to reveal all the secrets about your calling, your business, your career or big idea that you need to know? (John 16:13-15, 1 Corinthians 2:9-12).

If you're feeling frustrated right now in this area, maybe you need to spend some time building your faith up by meditating on these scriptures and reminding yourself that God keeps His word (Numbers 23:19, Isaiah 55:11).

And may I also suggest that maybe, just for a moment, maybe just for this week, that you release the pressure of it all and try looking at your pursuit through a new lense?  What would you tell a child who was getting frustrated trying to find eggs during a hunt? Wouldn't you encourage them to relax and just have fun? I'm gonna need you to keep that same energy. Your answer IS out there. And you WILL find it as long as you don't give up. You might as well have fun while you look.
