God can save my finances just like He saved my Soul.

“Why don’t you bring me the sacrifices I desire?...Honor me by trusting in me in your day of trouble. Cry aloud to me, and I will be there to rescue you.”
- Psalm 50:14a, 15 (The Passion Translation)

This week’s scripture struck a chord in me. Primarily the part where God says: “Honor me by trusting in me in your day of trouble”. He didn’t just say honor me by trusting in me. Most of us do that almost by default since we’ve chosen to profess our faith in Him. But no, He took it a step further and added “in your day of trouble”.

Whew 😅. Just let that sink in for a sec.

He’s telling us that the best way to bring Him honor is to call on Him when we’re in trouble. Not on mama, uncle, bae, credit card, job, etc. Him. Why do you think that is?

Because providing for you is the very essence of God’s identity.

It’s the role He signed up for in our lives. No matter what it is that we need, as our God, He’s put Himself out there as the One who can provide all of it.

Now how you gon’ give him the job of “god in your life” and then keep giving His work to someone else? What’d you hire Him for if you weren’t going to use Him?! Providing for you is what a “god” does. So if you "hired" Him, you need to be employing His skillset on your behalf.

Another way to look at it is that we actually dishonor Him by calling on someone else when we’re in trouble instead of Him 😬.  That’s right up there with calling your ex to change your flat tire or cook you a meal when you have a WHOLE spouse; these are things you just don’t do.

When trials along your entrepreneurial journey call for God-sized provision, you can’t keep running to man-sized solutions.

If we’re going to see these major dreams manifesting, businesses flourishing & ideas materializing on the level that God intended, we’re going to have to start trusting Him to be God in the areas we need a “god” for. That includes our coins.

But how do you do it? How do you physically put your trust in God when you’re in trouble? What does that even look like? I’m going to be really transparent and say right now for me, it looks like acting on His word that says I have the power to create wealth (Deut 8:18).

I can’t tell you how many times since putting in my notice at my job that I’ve thought about how I can just go get a little part-time job if I get into a financial bind in the midst of this faith walk He’s taking me on. But, with where my faith is at, His word is challenging me to believe I can create wealth. Which means the time I’d be spending making $8.25 an hour at Starbucks could be spent in wealth creation activities. So nope, hard pass. I’m about to prove this word works in my life.

There’s only one way to find out if God’s word works: you gotta act on it. So if you’re in trouble right now in any way, give your Father one of the highest honors you could give Him and ask Him to save you. His word says He will rescue you. Nothing in this world can compare to the feeling of proving to yourself that your God exists and will do exactly what He says He’s going to do.

Numbers 23:19, Romans 10:9 (the same way we confess and believe for salvation, we can confess and believe for financial provision, direction, health, etc. try it!)
