Fight for what belongs to you.

"The truth is that, although of course we lead normal human lives, the battle we are fighting is on the spiritual level. The very weapons we use are not those of human warfare but powerful in God’s warfare for the destruction of the enemy’s strongholds."

- 2 Corinthians 10:3-4 (J.B. Phillips New Testament)

Spiritual warfare is real. I don't really like to talk about it much because I feel like some people get a little too spooky kooky with it, but the reality is there is a whole kingdom of darkness out here trying to stop you from achieving your purpose. There's a situation that just "popped up" in my life recently that I know for a fact is an attack on what I'm building with my business. And when it showed up, my first reaction was honestly a feeling of helplessness. What can I do besides just pray? What if this happens and then this over here changes because of it?

It took me a minute to realize this was an attack. But something about that realization took me from a feeling of helplessness to more of a feeling of "wayt..I can clap back at this" lol

After I prayed about it, God started helping me see what I have to fight back with. He reminded me of a book I never read that I have in my collection (The Authority of the Believer by John A. MacMillan); it's already getting me together. He also reminded me of His word:

  • I have the power to tread over serpents and scorpions and over all power of the enemy (Luke 10:19)

  • I have mountain moving faith (Mark 11:22-26)

  • God has given me every weapon I need to fight the enemy (2 Cor 10:3-4, Eph 6:10-20)

  • What's impossible for me is possible with God (Matthew 19:26)

  •  The Lord will fight this battle for me (Exodus 14:14)

  • Ultimately, my victory won't come by my own might or power but by the most powerful "power" in existence, the Spirit of God (Zechariah 4:6, Ephesians 1:19-20)

You are more powerful than you know. And you've got God and all of heaven on your side. Don't let anything in hell stop you from accomplishing your purpose work or enjoying the abundant life Jesus paid for you to have. That's it. That's the devotional.

  • Mark 4:17 → Trials and persecution often come BECAUSE of the word God gives you. So don't be discouraged if you're experiencing opposition; fight back. And fertilize the ground of your heart so it yields a hundredfold (Mark 4:1-20).
